Title: Att Mr Bachmann
Post by: buzz on February 25, 2010, 04:54:19 AM
Hi
This may not be the proper forum for this as it is more to do with the UK trains and is very semi Thomas.
Is there any chance Bachmann will manufacture a model  bogie (with trucks) Wisbeck and Upwell tramway coach ie what I think henrietta should have been instead of the 4wh Wisbeck and Upwell coach.
The railway concerend had both 4wh and bogie coaches.
At the moment I have Henrietta on order for a non Thomas project,it would be nice if I could get models rather than very popular (with good reason) toys as a starting point
regards John

Hi Roger
Because I am interested in Wisbeck and Upwell Tramway coaches of
the real railway.
Certanly not the Isle of Sodor Version which is going to need one heck of a cut and shut job to get it to the full length bogied version.
I am after a real coach not a story or TV coach
If you are in the US you may not be aware that the orriginal Thomas was very much based on the real UK trains all of the orriginal Awdrey (spelling)
Thomas loco's ect were very real.
regards John

Buzz.

Now I understand.   Too bad there's no UK equivalent of this board then you could have asked there.  However, the odds of getting something so specialised as the Wisbeck tramway are below zero in North America and around zero from any supplier of UK outline models in the UK.

Yes, I'm well aware that "Thomas" is based on UK prototypes and that the original stories were based on actual events that happened on the railways of the UK.  I have a series of original "Thomas" books printed in the early 1960s before they stories got the Ms. Britt Allcroft treatment.

BTW, not everone who posts on this board is from the U.S. of A.  :)

Dear John,
You'll have to ask Bachmann UK.
Have fun!
