Title: Tenshodo HO Box Cars
Post by: Sunshine Express on November 25, 2009, 04:04:51 PM
Could anyone tell me how the old Tenshodo HO stock was branded,in particular the tinplate and plastic  box cars. I think they only had "Japan" on the underside. Wanted to identify same to be certain, and historic interest only. TGhanks

You may want to post your question at Trains.com, or another site with broader readership.

I may be wrong but I think all of Tenshodo's  models would be marked with Tenshodo.  I would think that cars with just japan on them would be more like International.

Tenshodo clearly makes it in a small square brass plate soldred
to all their products that I have.

                        Tenshodo
                            Japan

I have never seen a box car by them, but that maybe just me.

I think it would be quite rare. You might want to discuss that with a brass dealer. Find a brass dealer and call them and have a little chat. They might have some information.

I'll Google your boxcar to see what turns up.

Cheers,
