Dear bachmann, Can you run your UK HO/OO trains on the bachmann E-Z track DCC controller??? I can get OO to run on my layout but gotta "floor it" on the switches sometimes do to wheel base but can it be done? i got an old 1980's hornby Loco to do it... Does it work with yours or do i have to buy a different controller? I always loved UK and Us steam and thinking of getting some UK stuff in the future. just would like to know ;)

Part 2 to this:Can i get them to go with US cars? Sadly hornby and knuckle couplers don't like each other :P(for me at least). Can it work for your UK items??? That's it and keep up the 5 star models! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) ;D

Bachmann UK has sold E-Z command in the UK to go with their British range so it should work. In relation to couplers, many recent items of British rolling stock by Bachmann (and others) come with couplers in NEM pockets. These are a European standard that enable couplers to be easily swapped. Knuckle couplers are available for NEM pockets, by Bachmann and others. However there may be an issue with the height of the coupler, you may need over or undershank couplers or otherwise adjust the height. With non NEM fitted British stock you need to remove the coupler and fix a knuckle couple pocket, this may be relatively easy or fairly hard, depending on the item of rolling stock.

Also keep in mind that most UK 'OO' scale rolling stock with "bogies" (Trucks) still come with the coupler NEM mount/pocket on the "bogie" (truck) and not body mounted, as is common on the better quality North American models so they will still need some minor kitbashing to mount them on the body.

Why the UK still insists on the backwards step with the (bogie/truck) mount I just don't know.

Most model railroaders in the UK have much less room that we Americans for a layout.  That's why the British invented the fiddle yard.  Anyway, smaller spaces mean smaller radius curves, which means the modeler must make some compromises to get the equiment to work...truck-mounted couplers are one such compromise.

Now that i could agree, i study British trains and it makes no scene to me! Why get a powerful engine like a 9F and pull 20+ cars? And they are the size of 1/3 of a hopper?!? :o So i really agree on the curves.
