Bachman cable plugs

Bachman engines have two plugs--a four and two pin

The four goes to the motor and the light --I think

What is the two pin--does it connect  the engine drivers to the tender circuits

If so then than the cable can be eliminated by connecting the two pin to the four pin at the engine --correct

I know this would negate DCC and sound but the cable is bugging me more and more

That is correct, but if you eliminate the cables, then you lose tender pickup, if your tender has pickup wheels.
