DCC Loco Break In

Jim, I suppose if one has no warranty, then a bench test would be in order for a DC test. A clip to the tender and one to the engine to test it wouldn't be a problem with me. Or a Kadee brush, for the diesels.  Finding an old transformer would be though.
When I buy a loco, I make sure it is covered by a warranty and I also make sure that it is at least DCC ready for steam and DCC equipped for diesel.
