Bauchman 2-8-4 Problem

I have two 2-8-4 berkshires one lettered for the NKP and the other for the C&O. The problem I am having is the C&O tender squeels when on DCC the NKP model is fine. I swapped tenders just to check and see if the problem goes away and it did. I would like to get the C&O locomotive fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might check before sending back the locomotive.
