So I was wondering what the most common hopper type used on the N&W was ? I was thinking maybe a H2 class 40ft 3 bay, but were the 2bay 34fts more common ?
Also does anyone know of a source of drawing for N&W locomotives, principally the A class 2-6-6-4 ?
               Thanks,
                  Andrew

Hi Andrew
Best place to start research is the N & W Historical Society site.

I know what I wrote, I don't need a quote
Rule Number One: It's Our Railroad.  Rule Number Two: Refer to Rule Number One.

Try to find a copy of Hundman Publishing "The Locomotive Cyclopedia - V.1"  There is also a "Norfolk & Western Handbook" and one called something like "The Last 25 Years of Norfolk & Western Steam".  The last two are older books & may be out of print.

I think someone did a whole book on N&W hoppers not that long ago.
