Conversion for DCC

In one of the Christmas sales I purchased 2-Bachmann n-scale trains for my nephew.  I cannot tell if either is convertible to DCC and my hobby shop could not give me a definitive answer either; therefore I am hoping someone at Bachmann or on this board can inform me if the Empire Builder set (Northern locomotive with tender)  and the Thunder Valley set (EMD GP40 diesel locomotive) can be converted for Digitrak DCC?

Dear JEC,
The locos are not DCC Ready, but can be converted. Many hobby shops offer such a service.
