slow engines

Help I have four "new" never used by me engines all are Spectrum SD40-2.
Test ran all, results one runs fine. one runs fine in one direction very slow other direction. two very slow both directions. They were bought new by myself but never used. Test was done on same track same power supply. Any suggestions as to why they would run so differently?

Dear Ted,
Give them a light lube, and run them at moderate speed in both directions. If the performance doesn't improve after a break-in period, contact the service department.
