hesitation points on the ez track

I have a pretty good sized layout using the EZ track system and noticed that at certain points on my track layout the engine either crawls or stops completely.  I little push and it's up and going again.

I checked the track connections and they're good so why does this occur.  Is the track piece bad or dirty or .

Anyone have any ideas for the up and coming railroader, I could use help on this one.

Dear Rae,
It sounds like dirty track. First wipe off any accumulated grease, then use a track cleaner like this:
