have a bachmann gp-50. runs fine on straight track but approaching curved track the motor sound begins to increase but levels off when back on the straight track.whats going on?please help.many thanks to all.

How much time has the loco been run?  If it only has a short amount of running time, it may just need some break-in time.  Running at various speeds in both directions around turns in both directions.  If you just have a loop you will need to turn the loco around on the track to change the direction around the turns for the loco.  I have a figure eight test track for loco break-in.  It helps the gears to mesh better as they run for a while.
