Switch #5 connection

I just bought the switch tracker with bed. As I try to connect other track, one side will fit in , but on the switch side  or the other? ? way around I can't seem to connect. The roadbed seem to overlap causing uneven connection. Any products out there that can help this situation or i have to break a chunk off ? Thank for your help

It should have come with a small piece of track. The small piece should have a line on it where it is "scored". That is where you cut it off so it will fit.  See the picture where the small piece has the line on the lower right.

I ran into the same issue on the 60 degree crossing track.  You don't get any extra pieces with it.  There was a diagram that came with it and I figured out what it meant when I tried to piece adjacent track to it.  Arranged track layout so I didn't have to cut on an expensive turnout.
