Light bulb for older Sante Fe 0-6-0 yard switcher

I'm working on an older HO steam yard switcher with a split style design.  The light bulb fits between the engine halves and has a contact that wraps over the top of each side.

Is the Old Style Light Bulb #9884 the appropriate replacement for that?  The local hobby store thought it was not.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!
