WAs that worth $44?

Few more things i picked up at the Great Scale Model train Show....

I want one of those in B&O but can only find em on EBay.

Never knew Roundhouse did a Ma & Pa Caboose.

I also was able to get 6 packs of Walthers Decals for B&O Old Time Locos.

Since you like old time, here is a guy I have bought from a few times. You do need wheel sets. He includes couplers. Good prices and delivery.

I'd think you did okay.  It appears that you'll be needing metal wheelsets and kadee's for those.  I've found the Roundhouse rolling stock to be great right out of the box.

I have a four piece set of Roundhouse Boston and Maine observation cars that are fantastic.  I upgraded to Kadee's and they are one of the highlights of a op session at the club.

Did you also get the kits for the $44?  They look like they'll be needing both new wheelsets and kadees too.

I always replace wheels with metal ones. I also install the Kadee 711 old time coupler so a little more work. The Kadee #5 are grossly oversize. They make the smaller old time cars look like a little boy wearing his father's shoes. The Kadee #78 are a little smaller than the #5. The River City box cars come with the McHenry RTR Couplers.

You got a bargain - check out those cars on Ebay. They are "rare" and "vintage" (whatever that means.) I hope you have the proper  MA and Pa 4-4-0s to put in front of the caboose.

Once again I was unable to get to the Timonium show. There are always bargains and you get to see all the latest - just stay away from the lead hot dogs!

Right now i have a Ma & Pa 4-6-0 and soon a 2-6-0(i had to buy a 3rd B&O 2-6-0 because at the time when i got my overland B&O cars by Roundhouse only way to get them was in the set. I had already had two B&O 2-6-0s and ended up with two of the same number.)

Seems everything on eBay is "rare" and "vintage"

When I was in HO, I had three roundhouse Old Time cabooses. Since the roof was not attached it was easy to cut and move the cupola around. I even did surgery on one to fit a Grandt Line baggage door on one.

I think that they may have offered an old timer box car in Ma & Pa livery to accompany the caboose (or maybe I'm thinking of a Red Ball kit.)

I always liked going to Timonium on Sunday. Late in the afternoon you can really dicker over prices because some of the dealers want to get rid of inventory.
