where do you put the the different colored wires for on the engine. Can you tell me the colors. It says P1- P8 skipping P3. Can you help Me I have to give to a friend in like 3-4 days.

If you have the older one without the circuit board, this is how its wired but make sure the motor brushes are completely isolated from the frame or your decoder will turn into a smoke unit...poof
Orange / gray  motor
black / red  track
white/ blue  front light
yellow/blue  rear light
If it runs backwards when it should go forward, just switch the orange / gray wires
