ho train set

given to me by my grampa, when he worked for the U.P. is a ho scale golden spike train set still in the plastic wraper.  when was this set made and any value on it ?

Bachmann its currently producing this set as we speak, so it's probably fairly new. As for the value, I can find a new one online for $70, so that's the maximum you will get for it unless you find a very uninformed buyer.

This set was also produced back in the 80's under the same name. The loco had a pancake motor and the track was either steel or brass. The locos cheap motor didn't last long.
