HHp-8 decoder reset, DC running

I have an HHP-8 with Bachmann decoder on board that I programmed using my MRC system to the loco address. Now the loco won't run on DC power (but still does on DCC).

I tried resetting CV8 to 8, thinking this would reset to factory values, but the loco still won't run on DC power.

Does anyone have some ideas of what to try?
