GP 30 looses traction

I have a fairly new Bachmann GP 30 dcc that will just sit ont the track and spin it's wheels. The first time this happened I cleaned the wheels and it worked fine. Now it's doing it again and no amount of cleaning works. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Is the track straight and level? How many cars are you trying to pull? If the awnsers are "yes" and "0", then one of the driveshaft couplings may be broken. Check to see if all the wheels are spinning.

It's not pulling any cars & all the wheels are turning as far as I can tell. The track is fine. All my other locos run without a problem. This thing will move a couple of inches but mostly just spins it's wheels.

About all I can think of is that something is dragging. Maybe the feul tank isn't pressed up all the way.
