Locomotive Custom Painting in Progress....

I'm re-painting an Athearn H24-66 Trainmaster dummy right now. I picked it up at a train show a few weeks ago for $10 in a bargain bin, and I figured I'd re-paint it for my fictional road, the Emhurst and Area.

I'll keep you posted as I build it. Some pictures to come!

The paint is Banner Red Kylon spray paint.

What do y'all think?

The red looks like the red used on hoppers on the VT&P for the War Between the States Centenial cars.  Not many painted that way.

Nice decal work.  Are you going to add any highlights like some lightly applied gray wash in the grill work?  It looks nice and fresh straight from the paint shop.

I plan to weather the locomotive, including the wash in the grill, dry-brushed rust on the trucks, dust on the side, etc.
