Where can I find a set of passenger cars?

Hello all.

I've been browsing Ebay looking for a combine, coach, and observation coach. Though I've found one or the other, never all three in a set, or they're Hawthorn Village equipment, "which got me into On30". I'm aware of some passenger train sets, though I just need the stock, preferably OR&W scheme or any of the Red or Green unlettered schemes. When I look for cars individually, I'll find a mix match of Hawthorn Village or broken sets. Are there any sites that still have passenger equipment, or do I need to wait until Bachmann re-releases them?

Thanks

Dusten, one thing that I have done to minimize the impact of a lack of passenger cars on my layout is to run an excursion train using Bachmann's open excursion cars. Look on page 234 of the 2024 Bachmann catalog and you'll see what I'm talking about. I run one open excursion car and one gondola-style excursion car, populated with some figures to add a passenger train to my layout. One other thing that I also run, since I run short trains pulled mainly by Porter engines, is a wood side-door caboose, which is an elongated caboose with sliding side-doors like a combine and a small passenger section. Look on page 240 of the 2024 Bachmann catalog. I had just received an email from TrainWorld listing a sale on the open excursion cars, so you may be in luck. Not sure if the caboose is on sale. Hope this helps.

Thank you Fred, but I'm not interested in those cars for my railroad. They to me are too plain, and small. I'll break down and buy a passenger train set, or car by car until I have what I need, "as soon as I can with this economy haha".

Thank you for the suggestion

There is a set of 4 bumble bee passenger cars on ebay now.  It's an auction, no boxes.  There's also 2 OR&W cars being sold separately, but buy the same seller.

I have some unlettered burgundy, and olive green cars I'll probably end up selling.  I'll be home tomorrow and can see what I have if you're interested and want to reach out to me.

It sounds like you're facing the common challenge of finding specific On30 passenger rolling stock, particularly in matching schemes. Here are some suggestions to help you locate the combine, coach, and observation coach you're looking for:

Check Specialty Hobby Retailers
Many hobby shops carry or specialize in Bachmann On30 rolling stock, often stocking items that are out of production elsewhere. Try:
TrainWorld: Known for a wide range of model train supplies, including Bachmann On30.
MB Klein (ModelTrainStuff): Frequently carries passenger cars, including older and hard-to-find stock.
Nicholas Smith Trains: They have an extensive collection of rolling stock and accessories.
