Good morning,

I'm afraid I dropped my Bachmann Spectrum "HO" Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidated (The Baldwin Locomotive Work) Item No 11417 on its nose, breaking the pilot and cowcatcher.  (See pictures attached.)

I attempted to find the part online at the Bachmann Trains Part site without any luck. Does anyone have this part or the next higher assembly, or does anyone have a suggestion of where I can get this/these parts?

I'm a very new model railroad person so  I hope I've described the part/parts correctly.

Thank you in advance for your attention.

If this part or a suitable replacement is available, please provide "How to purchase this part instructions."

Best wishes for the holidays.

Looks like you can just glue it JohnW....

Fortunately, when my friend broke the pilot on his consolidation years ago, the spare pilot was still available.  I put it on for him.  But it looks like now you should cement it back on until you locate the part if you can.

Considering how many of these engines enter the toy market and undergo the abuse that toys undergo, it seems rational that this part should be available all the time. Maybe the Bach Man will stock up again.

I agree to a point Trainman...I think Bachmann may be missing an opportunity in the spare parts market? Flip side here is the expense to tool up for mass production, and he cost to the consumer may not be attractive. I would like to see some 63" wheel sets for 4-6-0's...Keep looking and bidding on Ebay is the current trend I guess....

They still offer the consolidation, the pilot part is still the same.  I'm not a businessman which is why I did not retire rich.  But to my simple thinking seems like it wouldn't be that hard to knock out a extra pilots while they're making them for the engines are going to produce anyway.
