Need Extra Weight for Passenger Cars?

I finally have all of my E-Z track purchased and I am testing my layout with my rail cars. Part of my layout includes a Bachmann 44137 HO E-Z Command DCC #6 Single Crossover Turnout Left and a Bachmann 44138 HO E-Z Command DCC #6 Single Crossover Turnout Right. I thought that I might have trouble with my passenger cars going through the switchover angles. So far so good. However I am having an issue with the passenger rail cars derailing while going straight through this piece of track. I am testing them at a very slow speed. If I manually test each car by itself I can see where the wheels slide as they encounter the switch rail. If I push down slightly on the passenger car it seems to pass the switch rail with no issues. This happens on both left and right crossover turnouts. I do not have the problem with my Bachmann freight cars and they seem to have some weight to them as compared to the longer passenger cars. It would seem that if I could add a little weight over the passenger car wheels, it may solve this issue. Has anyone tried this before?

Reading through some old posts it looks like this is a continuous problem. Some people add weights and some people have modified their turnouts by adding a stiffer wire to the turnout. Any other recommendations are appreciated.
