Street Car/Trolley issues

I just acquired a brand new auto reversing village street car set from eBay. Before I set it up, the car didn't want to run but I took it apart and cleaned the contacts and she was running good.

Every once in a while, before it reverses the other direction either at the barn or the last piece of track with the split in the rail, the car will stop and just stay there, still lit up. I have to physically give it a push and it will start going again. I cleaned the track as well as the car itself but it still does it every once in a while. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Dear Max,
There is a small gap in the rail at the spot where it reverses.
Try cleaning it out with an Xacto knife.
Have fun!

I know it may sound dumb, but are you sure you have the final piece of track connected properly?  If you have it reversed, the trolley will not auto reverse at the end of track.  The "break" in the track must be on opposite sides at each end of the run.  Don't ask me how I know this...........

I just got a used one and had the same issue.  I took a q-tip with white vinegar (cause that's what I had) and got all the wheels wet, then stuck it on the track and let it run back and forth.  It sort of sputtered for a minute, then it smoothed out and has been running fine. I did that to make sure the wheel wipers against the wheels were free of gunk.  If I had mineral spirits handy I would have used that.
