Not sure how to get the wheels off to get to the gear.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jim

Hi Jim, Carefully remove the hubcaps on the axles and this will reveal the screws at the end of the axles.

Perhaps also download the parts/exploded diagrams from Bachmann to see how things go together, you would see the hubcaps and screws

Yeah, the cap wasn't giving up.  I couldn't see a slight separation to pry at the cap..but looking closer, noticed the spokes, weight, and cap might be one piece.  So I'm here (see pic), but still not "there".  Looks like the motor/gear assembly side brackets are pin punched together.
Getting the drive axle/gear assy out would probably result in total disaster.  Not sure where to go from hear...gonna call Bachmann and see what they say.
Thank you for the kickbacks.

Hi Jim,

So it has been a long time since I have done a gear replacement but I believe you will find Two screws that go into the cast metal in front of the motor. Once you remove the screws the pins will come out, the side plate will come off and you will be able to get to the gears for replacement,  Once you do it you will see how things go back together.

Gregs idea is a good one. Here is a link.  https://shop.bachmanntrains.com/documents/81099.pdf

Thank you for your help.  That drawing Greg linked really showed it all.  Yeah, not sure how I missed it, but the part is available in parts list.  Kinda pricey but everything is.  I should have this Wonderland Express going soon.
Thank you again.
