Hello All.

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.

I have not engaged in the model train hobby since late 1990's earlier 2000's.  I was only involved in N scale sets.  The last set/train was purchased many years ago and I have not touched anything since early 2000s.  This last set may have been a Spectrum Set which came with the Item NO:44-6681 Transformer.  I just took all my stuff out of storage and trying to research exactly what I have.

This Spectrum Set I believe came with my Steam Locomotive Baldwin 2-8-0 ATSF #2523.

I cannot locate any info on this exact locomotive with this marking.  I have found many many other 2-8-0 locomotives but not a single example of the one I have.  I looked at the current Baldwin Catalog to find out some info about the current release of a more modern 2-8-0 with some DCC plug in feature.

Can anyone tell me anything about this particular locomotive.  Its features compared to current Baldwin version. Anything unique or desirable regarding this particular model with the #2523?

Why have I found many examples of the same model locomotive but not a single example of the one with the #2523?  Could not even find exact example on the current eBay for sale postings, or even last sales over last year or more.  That's odd to me.

A few tiny details are missing.  Where can I locate replacement parts of desired?

Also if this came with the Spectrum Set does it make it a Spectrum or simply a Bachmann Locomotive?

I am very interested in getting back into the hobby but no nothing about what I have. I also have a ton of EZ Track, another Transformer from an earlier non-Spectrum set, lots of freight cars, which I also know nothing about.  I do notice with some of the cars that there are many with very nice, finer, details and painting, verses others which look very basic.  Also some have a silver wheel set while others have a dark metallic looking set, and then some more with dark, or even black wheels, which I am not sure are even metal.  I know they are all Bachmann though.

Any info or help with be greatly appreciated at this point.

Thank You.
