I got another one in the mail today and I got a power supply. Still no activity. It lights up but no motion. I can still use it. Once you open the door, the door will stay open and you can see Santa in the door waving. I gave the other one to my daughter.

I spoke too soon. It works with the batteries. It wouldn't work with the power supply.

Didn't know that Bachmann and Bradford exchange have a common interest.  I am contemplating getting another winter crossing.

Hi Terry, great to hear you have got one working, can you confirm what happens please?

Is there 'sound activation' or is it just controlled by light level falling on the 'electric eye' in the tree base?

It is motion activated. When my trolley goes by, it opens for a few seconds then closes until the trolley goes by again.
