locomotive will not reverse

My daughter gave me the n scale point-to point reversing track set. The locomotive will only reverse when it arrives at the power supply side of the track but will not reverse when it arrives at the opposite end. I am completely new to all of this and appreciate any help. Thank-you

The most common reason is the track pieces not being in the right order. Double check them. I have a reversing set too and it happened to me when I first set it up.

Dear Elder,
Also check the tiny gap in the track at each end.
Cleaning the gap will often help.

One other thing.  Make sure the gaps are not on the same rail.  They need to be opposite of each other.  If they are connected as the per the instructions and the gaps are on the same rail, contact customer service.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I figured out the issue and it was ME. I bought additional track labelled "EZ Track" but I should have purchased the "Reversing EZ Track" All is well.
