Hello

Could you please advise what is the different between the old pan cake motors. How can I tell them apart?

What is the different between a 2981, 2974,2953, 2951, 3832, 3240?

Is the size of the motor that is different or

is it the the gear have a different number of teeth

Or is it the way the are wired up. I have of these motors brand new and I can't tell them apart

Please advise

most of us here don't bother with poancake motors. they are poor performers especially when compared to the newer stuff.

most if not all pancake motors were/are 3 pole motors.  usually poor performers at slow speed with high torque.  Most can be found in the toy train market.  And are not easily repairable.

Have any 2974 motors that you may want to sell?
Thanks,

Ran a Bachmann Prairie 2-6-2 for 30 years around the Christmas tree.
The plastic axles broke, then the motor.  Would like to restore it if possible.
May be a junk toy to you, but it is a beautiful locomotive with lots of memories
to me.
Thanks, again.

I have seen.a video from Sams trains (England) we're he usted a cd / dvd motor  to repower a ringfield motor. It looks similar to the Bachmann pancake motor . It seemed to run much improved in the video.

Just a thought. Hope you find the part that you need

Used a motor from I think the  closing mech. Sorry for the miss spelling in previous post had spell check set to spanish.
