Sound stopped working

I just picked up a new Bachmann train set with the easy command control center. Everything was programmed we had sound the train was running. The sound has stopped working. We were unable to get any sound to come on but the light turns on and off with the function key and the train runs fine. I have also tried toggling the number eight button on and off to verify that nothing is muted. Is this the right place to post or can someone steer me in the right direction. Thank you

Thanks Rich. I ended up taking the train back where I bought it and they tested it and could not get it to work so they replaced the engine for me.

Better choice,  Difficult to work om if you do not understand DCC.
