EZ Track Switch Machine not working

Just bought a whole new bunch of EZ track, a Bachmann train, and a new Tech7 ampac 760 power pack.  The pack outputs 23vdc and 18.5 vac for a total of 20va.  Train works great around the table with the supplied Bachmann power pack that came with the train, but the pack doesn't have any accessory terminals, which is the reason I purchased the Tech7.  I can't get the switch machines to work at all.  It's like their not getting power.  I hooked up the green cable from the switch machine track to the switch controller and the red power wire to the back of the ac accessory terminals on the back of the Tech pack and to the switch controller - nothing works.  Anyone have any ideas how to test this or know if I might be doing something wrong?

Sometimes overlooked,  if you have type A slide switch is the need to press to activate the switch machine installed in the turnout.  While the press down on the black slide switch must be released quickly, it needs to be firm.
