Can anyone tell me about this particular Bachmann HO B&O Mikado 2-8-2 Vanderbilt Tender Smoke Lighted 4473 train featuring electronic steam whistle.

I can tell you, given it's age (30), you will not be able to find parts for that loco. Repairing/maintaining will be next to impossible.

I can also tell you that loco does not match any B&O prototype that ever existed.

I see that model on ebay all the time, selling for a very attractive price. There's a reason for that.

If I recall the loco shell was based on a Reading prototype.

Never saw one running in person, so I can't tell you about the smoke or sound.

It has been some years but I believe I saw a CN Mikado running at Steamtown but do not remember any details. Been there three times.
They are not running steam at present.
Go to the site. Quite a place. I could walk all over the yard.  Complete repair shop behind the roundhouse with tours.
