Need help with throttle question

Hello,
I purchased an F59PHI Diesel locomotive.
However, I was unaware that the controller was sold separately.
I do not have any other Bachmann products.
I do have O gauge track (Lionel), and the train lights up when it sits on the track, and it idles but doesn't move.
What transformer do I need to purchase?

If the loco you are trying to run is HO or N scale you will need a DC transformer(power pack)

O scale uses an AC out put transformer.

Look for a power pack that says; DC output-16 volts or so.
