engine does not move

I have an HO engine and when i put it on tracks it does not run. When only 1 of the bogie (front or rear) is on tracks, the lights in the engine turn on. if both of the bogies are on tracks, the engine does not run and the power to the tracks is broken, cuts off.

one of the wheels on rear bogie had rubber on it which i removed.

please suggest.

Sounds like one of the bogies has become turned around.

When you removed the rubber (traction tire) did you have that axle out of the truck? May be that you put it in backwards.

Sometimes it does make a difference how the axle goes in. If you reversed it, you now have a short.
