Gene,

The AHM pulls fine when it runs. It will run a couple laps and then just quit. Some times it runs fine and others it won't run at all.

Any idea what type of motor I should be looking for?

MC, that sounds like a pancake.  Contact Northwest Short Lines (NWSL) and see what they recommend.
