Putting Smoke Deflectors on the train set 4-8-4 Overland

I was wondering, since the shell of the Overland Limited 4-8-4 and the NYC Niagara are the same,

in theory could you take the elephant ears off a Niagara and put them on the UP Overland?

And if so could it be possible to make said deflectors using a 3D printer of some kind?

I would think the answer to both questions would be a "yes" .

How good are your modeling skills, how good are your CAD skills and do you have access to a 3D printer?
