Bachmann ho 2-8-8-4 DCC

I am thinking about getting a ho scale Bachmann EM-1 2-8-8-4 and are they DCC equipped or DCC ready? Non sound.

All EM-1s came with dual mode DCC. The sound was an add on "module" that was reasonably easy to install. I have 2. They are great!

Bachmann EM-1 2-8-8-4 HO locomotive and its sound module are Discontinued.  The sound module is very hard to find.

Be careful, most sites are selling the N scale model

IF the OP finds a HO version with no sound, here is a link to add a new decoder with sound. An excellent decoder.
You just have to know what you are doing and know how to solder.
