New SD9 stalls N scale

  My new SD9 stalls on clean level track. It will run, and stall, then run again.
I have the unit , DCC  W/sound.
Anything I can do? I use it in the yard at slow speeds.

Well then, welcome to the club! On the topic of your train, I have no idea what's wrong. Do other locos move smoothly on that track?

Just a guess. It does sound like the decoder is wonky. Assuming the loco stops.
Do a decoder reset.
CV8, enter 8. Recycle track power and after a few seconds the lights should flash sixteen times and the loco run on address three for a successful reset.
No idea about your other locos.
