Passenger Car Paint Color

Hi, can anyone tell me if Green paint on the Passenger Coach (1860-80 era) - Painted Unlettered Green (HO Scale) is US Army Green or a different Green?  Thanks

Use whatever shade of green comes closest. Names are unimportant.

Sorry, I am trying to build an Army Passenger Train and wanted to determine if the factory green on these cars matches Army green or if I will need to paint them. I already have some red cars I could paint but I prefer not to do so.

During that period passenger cars used by the Army would have come from existing railroad inventories and retained their original color. This is a color chip chart from one manufacturer of the period: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/images/columbiachipsbig.jpg

The majority of railroads in the east would have been using colors similar to "Pullman Car Color", #4 on the chart, "No. 237 Red (actually more of a wine color), #10 on the chart, or one of the browns, #'s 20, 24 - 26 on the chart. Note that "Pullman Car Color" is not "Pullman Green", which didn't come into general use until the 1900's.
