Handrail and window removal

Hello

I am currently disassembling a couple RS-3s, a Gp7, and some FA units to repaint. I'm wondering if anyone has a trick to soften the glue used to hold the handrails and window glass in. I have been able to get some parts off with extreme care but it would be nice to find a way to do it where I don't have to worry about snapping something in half.
