It occurs to me that people not on Facebook might not be able to see the pics.
This is Newburg MO.

This was a small scale Arborway Railroad in St. James. I just found out about it and it just closed.

The used to be three roundhouses in NC, now there are only two. Spencer Shops at the NC Transportation Museum, and Norfolk Southerns in Ashville. The third sat inside the big wye in Greensboro, but degraded to the point it had to be demolished. You can see the road that ran around the structure, and the remnents of a few bays, just above the yard tracks and below the 'Google Map Dot' here:

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

James in FL

The NS Roundhouse in Asheville NC. is no more.
I was there first week of December last year when I went looking for it.
Was a landmark.
Yard is unchanged.
Maybe a bit more busy then 10 years ago.
Car shops are still there.
But Roundhouse and turntable gone.

It's pretty cool having Google Earth. We can see so many things we would not have seen before. It's looking into history from above.

I don't know how to copy a picture but the ATSF roundhouse site in Raton NM is clearly visible in satellite photos.
