45 ton loco

does anyone own Bachmann's 45 ton loco. I purchased one and when I put it on the track it does run nice except for this click sound that comes from it as it runs. I thought maybe it was the side rods hitting the track but everything looks clear. I thought maybe it is a defective unit. have thought about sending it in for repair.  anyone have any answers. maybe the bach man can look into it.  thanks

A clicking sound , looks like a split gear.

I have not heard of any 45 ton with cracked gears but it could happen.
I had a 44 ton DC only with cracked gear. Sent it in with a check and received a 44 ton DCC ready. Bachmann has a good repair, return policy. Check the page.
