Running DC locomotives through EZ Command DCC switches

I know that the DCC EZ Command switches are not designed for DC layout use but, can you run a DC locomotive through them without harming the on board decoder or it's programing? I switch my layout from DCC to DC and do not want to damage my EZ Command switches by passing variable DC voltage through them.
