Identifying diesel locos

A few years ago, a man gave my son about 20 or so Southern diesel locos. Most are the green ones. All are DC of course. Could any of you assist me in properly identifying them as they pertain to their prototypical counterpart and also as the makers of the HO? If so, I can take some pics and forward to you if you can help. I would love to clean them up and make a display case with placards identifying each loco.

If you post the pics to a hosting site, like Flickr, you can copy the image URL into the "Image" tags here (directly under the italics I BBC tags. That will get more eyes looking that might be able to give you answers.
