I am posting this again because apparently nobody wanted to answer my question and it looks like it got removed  

Anyway, I am planning on buying the Dewitt Clinton, is it a good quality locomotive? What is the locomotive made of, metal or plastic? How well does it run?

I don't really know what to say about it. I have one and it runs ok.  It's not a top-of-the-line item. It's plastic. I use mine mostly for just display.
