Bachmann 2-8-0 wiring question

I have a Bachmann 2-8-0 steam locomotive that originally had a sound decoder installed in it. The previous owner took the sound decoder out. I now have a TCS WOW sound decoder I would like to install in the locomotive however I noticed the locomotive is missing the two wore plug and instead has just two wires hanging out the back of the engine. The board in the tender looks like someone has tried to solider wires too it. Any ideas on installing the decoder? Should I get the plug.
