Controller Problem?

My son received the Pacific Flyer EZ Track set for Christmas. It is HO scale. Everything was working fine until recently....

When we turn the controller to any speed, it runs at almost full speed.... we have no control of the speed at all. It does the same thing in reverse.

Is this a common problem?  Anything I can do to fix it?

Sounds like the controller went bad.

Any analog controller will work (Hobby shops that specialize in model trains usually have a box of inexpensive used ones) just be sure you connect the rails to the DC terminals instead of the AC ones.

The best analog controllers out there are made by MRC.  Well worth the investment.
