Hey if I were to use a small fog machine to make realistic steam effects on my steam enignes would I have to do anything before I run it the locomotive again or will it be fine just letting it roll out like that?

Like smoke, the physics of condensing steam can't be scaled down to look realistic on small scale models.

I did once run an 18" gauge (if I remember right)  live steamer, and at that size the real steam looked great.  The pop valves, the cylinder cocks, the whistle, the whole thing was the height of cool.  The injector overflows dripped water and you fired it with real coal with a miniature shovel.

That engine was really pretty big. . You sat on the tender and looked over the cab roof , and hauled a 6 or 7 car train full of kids,  it was one of the most fun things I've ever done.

By default, the moderator(s) of this forum will be watching this thread, simply because of the topic title having anything to do with smoke. Don't get your feelings hurt if it get deleted.
Model in the way you wish... your way, is the right way, regardless of others opinions.

Now,
Are you running DC or DCC?
Have you a link to that

?
Is the "steam" water vapor?
I'd like to review the specifications of this
Quotesmall fog machine
, specifically, the max voltage and current draw and the physical size.
Can you post that?

Not sure I understand the rest of your question. :-\

Once it's wired properly, it would be a matter of a toggle, to turn it on or off, I wouldn't think it would require anything more.
Again, not sure I understand your question.

Ok 1 I running with DCC
And 2 wht I meant was I would put a small fog machine beside the steam engine and let it run to make it look like it was really smoking like the real thing.
And 3 when I let steam engine pull out again will the water vapor mess up the train or will it run without a problem?

THATS WHAT I MEANT😈

Personally, I would be concerned with condensation.

The water vapor will accelerate the oxidation process both inside your lokie and on your track.
I would not recommend parking any loco next to a fog machine.
Condensation anywhere on the layout is not a good thing.
