sd-45 pickups

 Has anyone used the pick up pieces off of a f-7 on the trucks of a sd-45? I know the wheel arrangement is different but it might work.
I tried wiring directly to frame but still losing contact.

They employ the same pickup scheme, i.e. sticky upper wipers from the trucks to the chassis frame halves.
