Hello there,
I'm planning to buy one Bachmann NE Steel Caboose (HO Scale) but...is it really to scale ?
I bought a few Bachmann cabooses (large scale and 0n30 scale) but unfortunately they are bigger than my Rolling stock.
Thanks for your answers.

According to an HO scale steel ruler, it is about 33 feet long over the coupler pulling faces; about 9ft 6in wide; and about 13ft 3in high over cupola roof.

And here http://crcaboose.railfan.net/classes/NE-6.htm says
Quoteformer NE-6 Dimensions

Hmm, interesting how pasting that in totally scrambled the arrangement.
I don't know if that's exactly the same specific designation of caboose.

the correct conrail classes for these were n4, n4a, n4b, n5g. the n4b class data page shows length over strikers (coupler pockets) 31-6, carbody length 24-11, truck centers 19-0, width 9-3, carbody height 11-0, height over cupola 13-6. this class are cars built for jersey central, cars built for  reading (n4, n4a) are similar in most dimensions but 32-8 over strikers giving them slightly larger end platforms. Lehigh valley cars were in class n5g, and shared the same dimensions as the jersey central cars, but had portal (circular) end windows. there was also a class n5r, which were wood sheathed versions of the northeastern style caboose, dimensions on these cars were slightly different from the steel cars.

class ne6, posted by on30gn15, is a combination of former new haven classes ne5 and ne6, neither of which resemble a northeastern style car. the ne5 class had roof with rolled edges somewhat like a pennsy cabin car, the ne6 appears to have been a standard caboose design used by several other roads, atlas has made a model of these.

Yes it is scale proportioned to the prototype.
