Bachmann Berkshire with DCC ON BOARD

Can a Bachmann Berkshire with the box labeled "DCC ON BOARD" be converted to run on DC? I'm looking at a very nice unit with that label on the box. I have not yet converted, but would buy the engine if I can convert it for now. If it is possible, how difficult is the operation, and can it be converted back to DCC?

The factory installed DCC decoder will automatically run with DCC or DC unless CV 29 has been user changed to use only DCC.
